Kindergarten homeschool plan, week 2
Letters a and t · Counting to 10 · My five senses
Week 2 of 36 in kindergarten, in quarter 1. Five days, about 70 minutes each.
Reading: the sounds of a and t, one a day, then blending them with the letters learned before. Sight words: “the” and “see”. The new story is “Man, Pan, Map”, and the reread is “Sit, Tap, Nap”.
Math: Counting to 10. Counting to 10 and back, counting 6 to 10 things, seeing numbers as 5 and some more on a ten frame, and meeting zero.
Science: My five senses. Seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and touching are how we find out about the world, and the first tools of a scientist.
Read-alouds: “Red, Red, Red”, “Yum!”, “Can I Pet It?”, “Hum Under My Hand” and “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”.
For the whole family: Take a senses walk outside: everyone names one thing for each sense.
