Kindergarten homeschool plan, week 1
Letters m and s · Counting to 5 · All about me
Week 1 of 36 in kindergarten, in quarter 1. Five days, about 70 minutes each.
Reading: the sounds of m and s, one a day, then blending them with the letters learned before. Sight words: “I” and “a”. The new story is “Sit, Tap, Nap”, and the reread is “Tim Taps”.
Math: Counting to 5. Counting things one at a time, touching each once, and knowing that the last number said tells how many.
History: All about me. Children start with themselves: their name, their family, how they have grown, and what they like.
Read-alouds: “In My Bag”, “A Boo for Bea”, “Not Yet, Ted”, “Jem Is Mad” and “The Little Red Hen”.
For the whole family: Look at baby pictures together and put everyone in the family in order from youngest to oldest.
