Kindergarten homeschool plan, week 3
Letters p and i · Writing numbers 0 to 10 · Seeing and hearing
Week 3 of 36 in kindergarten, in quarter 1. Five days, about 70 minutes each.
Reading: the sounds of p and i, one a day, then blending them with the letters learned before. Sight words: “is” and “it”. The new story is “Pit, Pat”, and the reread is “Man, Pan, Map”.
Math: Writing numbers 0 to 10. Writing each number from 0 to 10 and matching it to a group, so the written number means a real amount.
Science: Seeing and hearing. How eyes catch light and ears catch sound, and what happens when there is no light or no sound.
Read-alouds: “The Little Lantern”, “I See a Boy”, “Bo and the Bath Duck”, “The Hat Cat” and “The Bremen Town Musicians”.
For the whole family: Make the room dark, then light a flashlight, and talk about what you can and cannot see.
