Kindergarten homeschool plan, week 4
Letters n and d · More, fewer and the same · Rules and getting along
Week 4 of 36 in kindergarten, in quarter 1. Five days, about 70 minutes each.
Reading: the sounds of n and d, one a day, then blending them with the letters learned before. Sight words: “in” and “and”. The new story is “Dad Naps”, and the reread is “Pit, Pat”.
Math: More, fewer and the same. Comparing two groups by matching them up and by counting, and using the words more, fewer and the same.
History: Rules and getting along. Why families, schools and towns have rules, and how people take turns, share and solve problems.
Read-alouds: “Duck Says Sorry”, “Jem and Pug Sit”, “Heron Feels Left Out”, “Muskrat Is Grumpy” and “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”.
For the whole family: Write three family rules together and hang them where everyone can see.
