Kindergarten homeschool plan, week 5
Review: m s a t p i n d · One more and one less · Weather watch
Week 5 of 36 in kindergarten, in quarter 1. Five days, about 70 minutes each.
Reading: a review week (m s a t p i n d). Every sound so far, writing words by their sounds, and the sight words “can” and “we”. The new story is “Sid Sat”, and the reread is “Dad Naps”.
Math: One more and one less. Seeing that the next number is one more and the one before is one less, and counting on from any number.
Science: Weather watch. Sunny, cloudy, rainy, windy and snowy: looking at the weather each day and noticing patterns.
Read-alouds: “Kate and the Puddle”, “Fay and the Kite”, “Ruby and the Rainy Picnic”, “Mrs. Hedgehog's Umbrella” and “The North Wind and the Sun”.
For the whole family: Keep one weather chart for the week, with a different child filling it in each day.
