Kindergarten homeschool plan, week 11
Letters f and b · Numbers 16 to 20 · What animals need
Week 11 of 36 in kindergarten, in quarter 2. Five days, about 70 minutes each.
Reading: the sounds of f and b, one a day, then blending them with the letters learned before. Sight words: “big” and “little”. The new story is “Can Ted Hop?”, and the reread is “Sip, Sip, Sip”.
Math: Numbers 16 to 20. Seeing 16 to 20 as a full ten and some more ones, and writing the teen numbers.
Science: What animals need. Animals need food, water, air and a safe place to live, and they get them in different ways.
Read-alouds: “At the Zoo”, “Liv and the Ants”, “A Bath for the Birds”, “The Crow and the Pitcher” and “The Otter's Rock”.
For the whole family: Watch birds, squirrels or a pet for ten minutes and list everything they do to get what they need.
