Kindergarten homeschool plan, week 10
Letters r and u · Numbers 11 to 15 · Living and nonliving
Week 10 of 36 in kindergarten, in quarter 2. Five days, about 70 minutes each.
Reading: the sounds of r and u, one a day, then blending them with the letters learned before. Sight words: “for” and “here”. The new story is “Sip, Sip, Sip”, and the reread is “Pat, Pat, Pat”.
Math: Numbers 11 to 15. Seeing 11 to 15 as a full ten and some more ones, on two ten frames.
Science: Living and nonliving. Living things grow, need food and water, and make more of their kind; rocks, toys and water do not.
Read-alouds: “Big Egg”, “Meg and the Seed”, “Moss and the Box”, “Three Rocks in a Shoebox” and “A Cat and a Dog”.
For the whole family: Sort a pile of things from around the house and yard into living, once living, and never living.
