Kindergarten homeschool plan, week 9

Review: the first fourteen letters · Counting to 20, and review · Maps of my world

Week 9 of 36 in kindergarten, in quarter 1. Five days, about 70 minutes each.

Reading: a review week (the first fourteen letters). Every sound so far, writing words by their sounds, and the sight words “you” and “said”. The new story is “Pat, Pat, Pat”, and the reread is “Did It”.

Math: Counting to 20, and review. Counting to 20 and counting up to 20 things, then a look back at counting, comparing and shapes.

History: Maps of my world. A map is a drawing of a place from above, from a bedroom to a neighborhood to the whole Earth.

Read-alouds: “Go, Go, Go”, “Dex on the Bus”, “Little Red Riding Hood”, “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” and “The Hen Parade”.

For the whole family: Draw a map of your home together, each child adding a room.
