Read: Can Ted Hop?
- Your child can sound out every word in it: it uses only letters they know, plus a few sight words. Point under each word as they read.
- When your child is stuck, say the first sound and let them finish the word, rather than saying the whole word.
- Afterward, ask your child to tell it back: what happened first, next and last?

Read-aloud: The Crow and the Pitcher
- Read “The Crow and the Pitcher” aloud, and let your child turn the pages.
- This is an old tale, told for a long time. Afterward, ask: what did someone in the story learn?
- On the read-along you can show the pages on a big screen, or let it read the words aloud while each one lights up.
