Writing20 min

A water glossary

  1. Write a glossary of five water words in ABC order, each with its meaning.

  2. Check two of the answers by adding.

  2. Is it cleaner? It is still not safe to drink: talk about why towns clean water before it reaches the tap.
Social studies15 min

A family time chart

  1. Make a chart of what each person in the family does in the morning, the afternoon and the evening.
  2. Afterward, your child writes how today's topic shows up in their own town or home.
Read-aloud15 min

Read-aloud: Water Uphill

  1. Read “Water Uphill” aloud. If your child asks to hear it again, say yes: hearing a story twice is how it sticks.
  2. Afterward, ask: has anything like this happened to you? How was it the same, or different?
