How to use it

  1. Add your child and, under Children, school years and backup, your school or program name and your name as administrator. Choose how plus and minus grades count and how much an honors or AP course earns.
  2. Add each course under its grade level: the name, the subject area, the type, the credits and the grade. Leave the grade empty while a course is still in progress. Name the school year once for each level.
  3. Write a short description for any course you want to attach. The reading log can add the books finished that school year.
  4. Press Print the transcript for the transcript page and the course descriptions after it, signed and dated. Download a backup now and then, because the records live only in this browser.

Ideas for class

  • Enter each course when it ends, so the transcript is never a scramble in senior year.
  • Put a high school course taken early, such as Algebra I in 8th grade, under its own level so the credit is not lost.
  • Try both plus and minus settings to see what the scale does before you decide what your transcript will say.
  • Print the course descriptions with the transcript when a college or scholarship asks for more than grades.

Questions

What goes on a homeschool transcript?

Usually the student's name and dates, the school or program name, each course with its credit and grade grouped by year, a grade point average, the grading scale, and the signature of the parent as administrator. Colleges and scholarships ask for different extras, so check their instructions and attach course descriptions if they want them.

Is a transcript made here official?

In most places the parent is the school's administrator and issues and signs the transcript. What a particular college, employer or state asks for beyond that, such as a notary or an outside evaluator, is theirs to say. Check the instructions of whoever will read it.

How is the GPA worked out?

Each grade becomes points (A is 4, B is 3 and so on), points are multiplied by the course's credits, and the total is divided by the total credits. Extra points for honors, AP or dual enrollment are the numbers you set, and the all-years GPA divides once instead of averaging the years. It is the same method as the GPA calculator.

Does it have a watermark, and does it cost anything?

No watermark and no cost. There is no account to make and no trial to end. The transcript prints from your browser, and your records stay on your computer.

What happens if I clear my browser's data?

The records go with it. They are kept only in this browser, not on our servers, so we cannot get them back. Download a backup file now and then; it holds everything, and you can restore it on any computer.

Is anything I type sent to Peabody?

No. The names, courses and grades stay in this browser on this computer. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and the page works the same offline once it has loaded.

Names, courses and grades are saved in this browser only, and nothing is sent to us. No sign-in, no ads.
