How to use it
- Keep your records in the other tools through the year: attendance, hours, reading, report card, progress reports and work samples. Add your school name and your name as administrator under Children, school years and backup.
- Come here, choose the child and the school year, and tick the parts to include. Untick any work samples you would rather not show.
- Type the evaluator's name if you want it on the cover, then press Print the packet. Each part starts on a new page, with a cover, a contents list and a page for the evaluator's comments and signatures.
- Choose Save as PDF in the print window to keep or send a copy. Download a backup of your records now and then, because they live only in this browser.
Ideas for class
- Print a draft in the spring so you can see what is thin and fill the gaps before the evaluation.
- Pick six to ten work samples from across the year and subjects instead of all of them.
- Add a progress report for each term; they read well next to the report card and give the evaluator your own words.
- Keep a PDF of each year's packet in your own files; it is the permanent record of the year.

Questions
Does my state require an evaluation or a portfolio review?
Some states ask for a yearly evaluation, test or portfolio review, and many do not. What it must contain, who may do it and when it is due are the state's rules, not this page's. Check your state's page, then use this packet to gather what you are asked to show.
What goes in the packet?
Whatever you tick: attendance with a month-by-month table, hours by subject and month, the books finished, the report card, your progress reports, the work samples you choose, and the transcript for high school. Each part starts on a new page, after a cover and a contents list.
Where does the information come from?
From the other Record Book tools, kept in this browser. Nothing is typed twice: if a number looks wrong, fix it in the attendance, hours or reading tool and the packet updates. Only the evaluator's name is typed here.
What happens if I clear my browser's data?
The records go with it, so the packet could not be made again. They are kept only in this browser, not on our servers, so we cannot get them back. Download a backup file now and then; it holds everything and you can restore it on any computer.
Is anything I type sent to Peabody?
No. The names, records, notes and pictures stay in this browser on this computer, and the packet is made on your computer and printed from it. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and the page works the same offline once it has loaded.
Names, records and pictures are saved in this browser only, and nothing is sent or uploaded. No sign-in, no ads.
