Homeschool progress report
Write a few words about each subject for a term, a quarter or the year. The days, hours and books from your other records fill in beside them, ready to print.
Opening your records on this device...
How to use it
- Add your child and check the school year, then press Start a progress report and set the dates it covers.
- Read the days, hours and books the page found in your other records for those dates. They print with the report.
- Write a few lines for each subject, some general comments, and goals for the next period. Leave any subject blank to leave it off the page.
- Press Print this progress report for a signed record. Download a backup now and then, because the records live only in this browser.
Ideas for class
- Write one every term, even when nobody asks. It takes ten minutes and it is the best record of what was learned.
- Say what was covered, then how it is going, then what comes next, in plain words.
- Share it with grandparents or a co-op teacher; it reads like a letter.
- Keep the whole year's reports together as the core of the evaluation packet.

Questions
How is this different from a report card?
A report card is a grid of marks. A progress report is your own words about a stretch of dates, printed with the days attended, hours by subject and books finished. Many families do both; some states and evaluators ask for narrative reports.
Where do the days, hours and books come from?
From the attendance, hours and reading tools in the same book, for the dates you choose. If a number looks wrong, fix it in that tool and the report updates. Nothing is typed twice.
Can I write several reports for one year?
Yes. Start another report for each term or quarter and choose between them in the list. Each keeps its own dates and words, and you can delete one without touching the others.
What happens if I clear my browser's data?
The records go with it. They are kept only in this browser, not on our servers, so we cannot get them back. Download a backup file now and then; it holds everything, and you can restore it on any computer.
Is anything I type sent to Peabody?
No. The names and everything you write stay in this browser on this computer. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and the page works the same offline once it has loaded.
Names and everything you write are saved in this browser only, and nothing is sent to us. No sign-in, no ads.
