World Adventures, for ages 6 to 10, visits a new country each month with a project, activity journal, stickers and a collectible coin; Science Expeditions, for ages 8 and up, sends a new experiment theme each month with a lab notebook and comic book.

What it does well

  • Everything for each month's activities arrives in the box, so there is nothing to gather or prepare.
  • Each box takes one country or one science theme and teaches it through a project, stories, puzzles and stickers.
  • Subscriptions can be paused or cancelled online, and the page offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • A child can move from World Adventures on to Science Expeditions after 12 months.

Watch for

  • One box a month is enrichment, not a full geography or science course, so it sits beside your main curriculum.
  • Plans renew automatically, so set a reminder if you do not want another year.
  • Shipping is free only in the contiguous US; elsewhere costs more.
  • A book a month on top of the box is a Premium upgrade at $10 more a month.

It fits

A family that wants a monthly hands-on treat on world geography or science that a child can open and start on their own.

It doesn’t fit

A family on a tight budget, or one that wants a complete course with a lesson for every school day.

What we read, and how we label

Every fact on a card was read on the publisher's own website on the date shown, and the page it came from is linked. A fact we could not confirm there is left out. Costs are for one child and one year of the main package, as the publisher's page showed them that day; prices and sales change. Method and format are the publisher's own description where it gives one. The only thing we say about religion is one label, secular or faith-based, given by the rule above; where the publisher's pages don't settle it, the card has no label.
