Schoolio
Schoolio is a kindergarten to 8th grade homeschool curriculum in math, language arts, science and social studies, with electives, for families in the US and Canada. The digital plan has video lessons, online quizzes and printable PDF activities; a bookstore also sells scripted, open-and-go books as PDFs or in print. Math is mastery-based by strand, so a child can work at different grade levels in different strands.

- Placement
- No placement test on the publisher’s site when we checked.
What it does well
- One plan covers the four core subjects, with video lessons, quizzes and printable activities together.
- Math is split into five strands, and a child can work at a different grade level in each.
- Units come in US and metric Canadian versions and are aligned to state and provincial guidelines.
- Families who want no screen can buy the scripted books as PDFs or in print instead.
Watch for
- It stops at 8th grade, so high school needs another program.
- Digital downloads are not refunded, so use the free trial before paying.
- The publisher says its units do not match every state or province's outcomes exactly; check what your area requires.
- Printing from Schoolio costs extra, at $0.15 a page.
It fits
A family in the US or Canada that wants all four core subjects in one plan, with video lessons and the freedom to mix grade levels in math.
It doesn’t fit
A family with a high schooler, or one that wants a literature-based or Charlotte Mason style of learning.

What we read, and how we label
Every fact on a card was read on the publisher's own website on the date shown, and the page it came from is linked. A fact we could not confirm there is left out. Costs are for one child and one year of the main package, as the publisher's page showed them that day; prices and sales change. Method and format are the publisher's own description where it gives one. The only thing we say about religion is one label, secular or faith-based, given by the rule above; where the publisher's pages don't settle it, the card has no label.
