Kindergarten homeschool plan, week 35
Two short words make one · Counting and writing review · Summer and sun safety
Week 35 of 36 in kindergarten, in quarter 4. Five days, about 70 minutes each.
Reading: two-part words, two short words joined into one: sun + set makes sunset; read each part, then the whole. Words to read and spell: sunset, cupcake, bathtub, sandbox, catnip, hilltop, pigpen and bedbug. Sight words: “that” and “too”. The new story is “Rain on the Hat”, and the reread is “Mop Can Hop”.
Math: Counting and writing review. Counting to 100, counting things to 20, and writing numbers to 20.
Science: Summer and sun safety. Summer brings long days and strong sun, and shade, hats and water keep people safe and cool.
Read-alouds: “The Sun Is a Star”, “Tom and the Big Fish”, “The Tooth on the Beach”, “At the Zoo” and “Momotaro, the Peach Boy”.
For the whole family: Find the shadiest and the sunniest spot in your yard or a park, and feel the ground in each.
