Kindergarten homeschool plan, week 29
Double letters at the end: ll, ss, ff, zz · Heavier and lighter · Bugs and small creatures
Week 29 of 36 in kindergarten, in quarter 4. Five days, about 70 minutes each.
Reading: double letters, two of the same letter, one sound: be-ll, ki-ss, pu-ff, bu-zz. Words to read and spell: bell, hill, doll, kiss, mess, puff, off and buzz. Sight words: “no” and “on”. The new story is “Where Is the Cat?”, and the reread is “Jump, Jump, Jump!”.
Math: Heavier and lighter. Comparing weights by holding and with a homemade balance, and comparing how much containers hold.
Science: Bugs and small creatures. Insects have six legs and three body parts; spiders, worms and pill bugs are small creatures that are not insects.
Read-alouds: “Ants Are Strong”, “Look at Ants”, “Liv and the Ants”, “Who Lives Under the Log?” and “The Snail Race”.
For the whole family: Lift a log or a stone outside, look at what lives under it, and put it back gently.
