Kindergarten, week 29, day 5

Day 145 of 180 · Science: Bugs and small creatures · about 70 minutes

Reading20 min

Reread: Jump, Jump, Jump!

  1. Reread “Jump, Jump, Jump!” from last week. The second time is smoother and quicker: that is fluency growing.
  2. Find this week's sight words, “no” and “on”, in the book or on their cards.
  3. Let your child pick one page to read to someone else in the family.
Math20 min

Lightest to heaviest

  1. Your child puts three things in order from lightest to heaviest by holding them.
  2. Check with the hanger balance.
Science15 min

Ants on a log

  1. Make the snack called ants on a log.
  2. Count the ants on each log and make every log the same.
Read-aloud15 min

Read-aloud: The Snail Race

  1. Read “The Snail Race” aloud. If your child asks to hear it again, say yes: hearing a story twice is how it sticks.
  2. Afterward, ask: has anything like this happened to you? How was it the same, or different?
