Write the sounds
- Say a sound; your child writes the letter for it. Go through the letters learned so far.
- Then say a short word (pop, hum, red, let, yam and us); your child says its sounds and writes it, one sound at a time.
- Check together. Writing a word by its sounds is real progress, even with a letter off.
