Kindergarten homeschool plan, week 17

Review: all twenty-six letters · Counting to 100 by tens · Animals in winter

Week 17 of 36 in kindergarten, in quarter 2. Five days, about 70 minutes each.

Reading: a review week (all twenty-six letters). Every sound so far, writing words by their sounds, and the sight words “three” and “down”. The new story is “Jen and the Jam”, and the reread is “Ten Pigs”.

Math: Counting to 100 by tens. Counting to 100 by tens, and seeing each ten as a full ten frame.

Science: Animals in winter. Some animals sleep through winter, some travel to warmer places, and some grow thick coats and stay.

Read-alouds: “The Bear Who Could Not Sleep”, “Penguins Up Close”, “The Run to Nome”, “The Ant and the Grasshopper” and “Pim and the Mitten”.

For the whole family: Make a chart of animals that sleep, leave or stay through winter, with a picture of each.
