  3. Your child finds a ew, ue and u_e word in a book or on a box at home.

Shadow lengths

Social studies15 min

How groups decide

  1. List ways groups decide: one leader, taking turns, talking until all agree, or voting. Write one good thing about each.
  2. Afterward, your child writes two or three sentences about what they did and why it matters.
Read-aloud15 min

Read-aloud: The Moon's Night Off

  1. Read “The Moon's Night Off” aloud. It is above what your child reads alone, on purpose: hearing longer stories builds words and understanding.
  2. Before reading, look at the title and the first page and ask: what do you think this story is about?
  3. On the read-along you can show the pages on a big screen, or let it read the words aloud while each one lights up.
