oi and oy in sentences

  1. Read the oi and oy words from this week again, then read them in sentences: on the decodable page, or in three short sentences you write.

Later and earlier

  1. It is 2:00. What time will it be in 30 minutes? In an hour and a half? What time was it 15 minutes ago?
  2. Move the clock hands to check each answer.

Social studies15 min

Why money helps

  1. Act out trying to trade apples for shoes when the shoemaker doesn't want apples. How does money solve the problem?
  2. Your child explains today to someone at home, then writes the main idea in a sentence.
Read-aloud15 min

Read-aloud: Pooh and Piglet Go Hunting

  1. Read “Pooh and Piglet Go Hunting” aloud. Give the characters different voices; it helps a young listener follow who is talking.
  2. This is an old tale, told for a long time. Afterward, ask: what did someone in the story learn?
