Spell words with short e

1. Say a word: leg, jet, red and hen. Your child says each sound, then writes the word.
2. Check each one together and fix any letter that is off.
3. Read all eight short e words as fast as you can, then once more.

1. 8 − 5: think 5 + what makes 8? 3. So 8 − 5 = 3.
