Reading25 min
Read: A Bath for the Birds
- Your child reads it aloud to you, then reads one page again with expression, the way a character would say it.
- When your child is stuck, say the first sound and let them finish the word, rather than saying the whole word.
- Afterward, ask your child to tell it back: what happened first, next and last?

Read-aloud15 min
Read-aloud: The Cat That Walked by Himself
- Read “The Cat That Walked by Himself” aloud, and let your child turn the pages.
- This is an old tale, told for a long time. Afterward, ask: what did someone in the story learn?
- On the read-along you can show the pages on a big screen, or let it read the words aloud while each one lights up.
