Reading25 min

Reread: Big Egg

  1. Reread “Big Egg” from last week. The second time is smoother and quicker: that is fluency growing.
  2. Find this week's sight words, “over” and “put”, in the book or on their cards.
  3. Let your child pick one page to read to someone else in the family.
Math25 min

Putting numbers in order

  1. Write five two-digit numbers on cards.
  2. Your child puts them in order from least to greatest and reads them.
Science20 min

Show your best design

  1. Your child shows their best ramp or marble run to the family.
  2. They explain what they changed and why it worked.
Read-aloud15 min

Read-aloud: Tom Thumb

  1. Read “Tom Thumb” aloud. If your child asks to hear it again, say yes: hearing a story twice is how it sticks.
  2. This is an old tale, told for a long time. Afterward, ask: what did someone in the story learn?
