Free homeschool transcript template

A template is a blank form; what you need is the year-by-year record behind it. This one fills itself in from the courses you add.

A free homeschool transcript template is in Peabody's Record Book: add each high school course with its credits and grade, and the printed transcript lists courses by year with credits, a GPA for each year and for all years together, the grading scale, a signed certification and the date issued. It uses the same arithmetic as Peabody's GPA calculator and stays on your device.

Checked October 30, 2026.

What does the printed transcript show?

  1. Your school or program name, address and phone, if you typed them.
  2. Student name, date of birth and graduation date.
  3. Courses grouped by year (9th to 12th grade, plus 7th or 8th grade for high school credit earned early), each headed with its school year, such as "9th grade, 2026-2027".
  4. Each course with its credits and grade, marked H for honors, AP for AP or IB, or DE for dual enrollment. A course without a grade prints "In progress".
  5. Under each year: credits earned and that year's GPA, weighted too if you use extra points.
  6. A summary: credits earned, credits taken, unweighted GPA and weighted GPA.
  7. The grading scale you chose, with the points for each grade.
  8. "I certify that this is a true and complete record" of your student's high school work, a signature line for the parent or administrator, and a date-issued line.

Why not just use a transcript generator?

A generator lays out what you type. The work is not the layout; it is keeping each year's courses and grades as they happen, so the transcript in 12th grade is a copy of records you already have. The Record Book keeps the courses with the rest of your records, brings in courses already typed in the GPA calculator so you do not type them twice, and prints the transcript whenever you need a new copy.

How is the GPA worked out?

  • Grade points times credits, divided by credits.
  • You pick how plus and minus count: letters only; plus and minus worth 0.3 with A+ held at 4.0; or plus and minus worth 0.3 with A+ at 4.3.
  • Extra points for honors (0.5 to start), AP or IB (1) and dual enrollment (0 to start) are yours to change, and they go on passing grades only.
  • A passed pass/fail course earns credit and is left out of the average.
  • The all-years GPA adds every year's points and credits and divides once; it is not the average of the yearly GPAs.

Can I add course descriptions?

Yes. Each course has a description box for what was studied, the texts used and how it was graded, and "Add the books finished that school year" pulls titles from your reading log. Tick "Print the course descriptions after it" and they print on their own pages after the transcript. The course description maker helps you write them.

Where is it kept?

Everything you type stays in this browser on this device (IndexedDB). There is no account and nothing is sent to Peabody. Download a backup file from the Record Book now and then: one file holds the whole book, photos included, and brings it back on a new computer.

Make yours

Open the transcript, add your school name and your name as administrator under "Children, school years and backup", then add a course for each year.
