Homeschool report card template that fills itself from your marks
Type a mark per subject each term; the card lays itself out, adds the school days you already recorded, and prints with a signature line.
Peabody's free report card prints from the marks and comments you type for each subject and term, adds the school days from your attendance record, and keeps it all in your browser. You choose the marks (A, 92%, Satisfactory) and write your own grading key. Few states' law pages ask for a report card; check Peabody's state law pages for yours.

This is a plain-words summary, not legal advice. Laws change: check your state's current law and its education department before you act.
Does my state require a report card?
Most state laws do not use the words report card. Some ask for a yearly progress report, an evaluation or a test instead; the What-to-file table shows each state's keep and test lines. A report card is still useful for a child going back to school, a grandparent, or a teen's own records.
What does "fills itself" mean here?
- The subjects come from your Record Book (Math, Language arts, Science, History and social studies, Art, Music, Physical education and health, Other, until you change them).
- The terms start as Term 1 to Term 4; rename them to semesters, quarters or anything else.
- Each mark you type lands in its term's column. Subjects with no mark are left off unless you tick Show every subject.
- The school days line comes from the attendance record you already keep, shown as days so far, against your target if you set one.
- Your school name, the child's name and year, and a parent or administrator signature line print on the card.
What marks can I use?
Anything up to 16 characters. The box suggests letter grades from A+ to F, P, E, S, N, O, and words like Excellent, Satisfactory, Needs work, Mastered and In progress. Peabody does not choose a scale for you; write what your marks mean in the grading key, which prints under the card.
What does a printed card look like?
| Subject | Term 1 | Term 2 | Term 3 | Term 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Math | B | B+ | A- | |
| Language arts | S | S | E | |
| Science | Good | Excellent | Good | |
| History and social studies | A | A | A |
Where do the comments go?
Each subject has a comment box per term (up to 400 characters). On paper they print under the marks, grouped by term. For longer notes, goals and a book list, the progress report is the better sheet.
Is any of it uploaded?
No. The Record Book lives in your browser on your device. Save a backup file now and then; the evaluation pack can print the report card together with the rest of the year.
Make the report card
Open the report card, pick a child and a term, type the marks, and print. Add at least one mark or comment and the Print button comes on.
