  1. Measure a book with blocks or paper clips laid end to end, with no gaps.
  2. How many long is it? Measure a shoe and a spoon too.

Seeds we eat

  1. Find seeds in food: inside an apple, a cucumber, a strawberry.
  2. Which seeds do people eat, and which do we spit out?
Read-aloud15 min

Read-aloud: The Bean in the Cup

  1. Read “The Bean in the Cup” aloud. Give the characters different voices; it helps a young listener follow who is talking.
  2. Afterward, ask your child to tell the story back to you: first, next, last.
