Kindergarten, week 27, day 5

Day 135 of 180 · Science: Healthy habits · about 70 minutes

Reading20 min

Reread: A Bun for Fran

  1. Reread “A Bun for Fran” from last week. The second time is smoother and quicker: that is fluency growing.
  2. Find this week's sight words, “like” and “will”, in the book or on their cards.
  3. Let your child pick one page to read to someone else in the family.
Math20 min

Math games day

  1. Play two math games your child chooses: on screen, with cards or with dice.
  2. Let your child teach you the rules of one.
Science15 min

Sleep

  1. Sleep helps a body grow and a brain learn.
  2. Your child draws the bedtime routine in order: first, next, last.
Read-aloud15 min

Read-aloud: Not Yet, Ted

  1. Read “Not Yet, Ted” aloud. If your child asks to hear it again, say yes: hearing a story twice is how it sticks.
  2. Afterward, ask: has anything like this happened to you? How was it the same, or different?
