Kindergarten, week 18, day 2

Day 87 of 180 · History: Community helpers · about 70 minutes

Reading20 min

Write the sounds

  1. Say a sound; your child writes the letter for it. Go through the letters learned so far.
  2. Then say a short word (gem, bus, ten, sip, log and fog); your child says its sounds and writes it, one sound at a time.
  3. Check together. Writing a word by its sounds is real progress, even with a letter off.

Quick take-aways from 5

  1. Say a take-away within 5, like 5 − 2 or 4 − 3. Your child answers.
