Reading25 min

Reread: Go, Snail, Go!

  1. Reread “Go, Snail, Go!” from last week. The second time is smoother and quicker: that is fluency growing.
  2. Find this week's sight words, “as” and “ask”, in the book or on their cards.
  3. Let your child pick one page to read to someone else in the family.
Math25 min

Taking away within 10

  2. Check two answers by adding back.
Science20 min

Messages with sound and light

  1. People send messages with sound and light: a whistle, a horn, a flashlight in the dark.
  2. Make up a code with flashes or claps and send a message across the room.
Read-aloud15 min

Read-aloud: The Moon's Night Off

  1. Read “The Moon's Night Off” aloud. If your child asks to hear it again, say yes: hearing a story twice is how it sticks.
  2. Afterward, ask: has anything like this happened to you? How was it the same, or different?
