Review: spell the words

1. Say a word from the review list (rain, tree, boat, mail, feet and coat); your child says its sounds and writes it.
2. Check each one together and fix any letter that is off.
3. Then your child writes one sentence using two of the words.

Tens and ones check

1. Your child builds five numbers you say, and writes each as tens and ones.
2. Then you build one and they name it.

1. Follow bread from the farm to your table: farmer, miller, baker, driver, store clerk.
2. Draw it as a chain.

1. Read “The Run to Nome” aloud, with your child beside you where they can see the pictures.
2. This one is true. Afterward, ask: what is one new thing you learned? Then find one more fact in it together.
