New York homeschool quarterly report, filled in

A quarterly report template for NY: the hours per subject come from your hours log, you write what was covered and a grade or a few lines each, and it prints one page per child. Nothing you type leaves this computer.

What New York asks

In plain words, each quarterly report under 8 NYCRR 100.10(g) holds (8 NYCRR 100.10, Home instruction (New York Codes, Rules and Regulations)):

  • the hours of instruction during that quarter;
  • a description of the material covered in each subject;
  • a grade in each subject, or a written narrative of the child's progress;
  • a written explanation if less than 80 percent of the material planned for the quarter was covered in any subject.
  • The annual assessment goes in with the fourth quarterly report.

In the rules' own words

Checked . The regulation's text here is the state's official compilation on govt.westlaw.com, shown as current through October 31, 2021. Send each report to the superintendent on the dates in your IHIP. Information, not legal advice.

Where the numbers come from

  • The quarter's dates are the ones in your IHIP; with none saved, the school year split in four.
  • The hours are the hours log's entries between those dates, per subject. Log time as you go, or with the Tap Clock.
