Wordly Wise 3000 and i3000
Wordly Wise is a vocabulary program of 3,000 words that turn up in grade-level books, school subjects and tests. Wordly Wise 3000 is print, with a student book per grade from Book K to Book 12, and Wordly Wise i3000 is an online version for 2nd to 12th grade with self-paced, automatically scored practice. Each lesson gives definitions and example sentences, practice on word meanings and parts, a reading passage using every word, and a test.

What it does well
- One book per grade gives a steady, predictable vocabulary routine through all of school.
- Each lesson ends with a reading passage that uses every new word, so words are met in context.
- Practice covers prefixes, roots and suffixes, which helps with words beyond the list.
- The online version scores practice automatically and offers each passage at two reading levels.
Watch for
- The publisher's shop hides prices behind a school login, so a family has to call or buy through another seller.
- The online i3000 is set up like a classroom: the parent creates a teacher account and a class for each child.
- Some activities are written for pairs or groups, such as turn-and-talk, which a single child at home can't do as written.
It fits
A family that wants a steady, workbook-style vocabulary course to run beside reading and writing, year after year.
It doesn’t fit
A family that prefers learning words through living books and conversation rather than lists and tests.

What we read, and how we label
Every fact on a card was read on the publisher's own website on the date shown, and the page it came from is linked. A fact we could not confirm there is left out. Costs are for one child and one year of the main package, as the publisher's page showed them that day; prices and sales change. Method and format are the publisher's own description where it gives one. The only thing we say about religion is one label, secular or faith-based, given by the rule above; where the publisher's pages don't settle it, the card has no label.
