Reread: The Hat Cat

  1. Reread “The Hat Cat” from last week. The second time is smoother and quicker: that is fluency growing.
  2. Find this week's sight words, “from” and “give”, in the book or on their cards.
  3. Let your child pick one page to read to someone else in the family.
Math25 min

Adding three numbers on paper

  1. Make a sheet of three-number sums on the worksheet generator.
  2. Circle the pair you added first in each one.
Science20 min

Protecting skin

  1. The sun's light can burn skin even on cool days.
  2. Make a list of ways to stay safe in the sun.
Read-aloud15 min

Read-aloud: The Elephant's Child

  1. Read “The Elephant's Child” aloud. If your child asks to hear it again, say yes: hearing a story twice is how it sticks.
  2. This is an old tale, told for a long time. Afterward, ask: what did someone in the story learn?
