Things to do, with their deadlines
Nothing dated for your answers. Since July 1, 2025 a home-based program no longer has to send its curriculum to the local school district (House Bill 46). The statute names no yearly notice to file. If you take a child under 18 out of a school district without having told the district that you are enrolling the child in a home-based program, you must meet in person with a school counselor or administrator and give written consent to the withdrawal.
All year
Teach the subjects Wyoming names: reading, writing, mathematics, civics, history, literature, science.

Good habits (not in the law)
-
Keep a copy of everything you send, and of any acknowledgement you get back, with the date.
-
Start simple records on day one: the days you teach, the books you read and a few samples of work in each subject. They help if you move, return to school or apply to college.
Where this comes from
- Wyoming Statutes Title 21, Education (Wyoming Legislature) (the law)
- Wyoming Department of Education: Homeschooling (state agency)
- Wyoming Department of Education: Education Savings Account (state agency)
