To save a PDF, choose Print, then “Save as PDF” as the printer. Only the sheets print.

Photos are shrunk on this computer and kept only while this page is open. They are never uploaded or saved, so add them again next time.

How to use it

  1. Type your school or program name and check the school year. Choose a color.
  2. Add a card for each educator and each student. Type the name and, for a student, the grade. Choose a photo if you like.
  3. Add a page of card backs, with an optional “If found, contact” line.
  4. Press Print on card stock or plain paper, and cut along the edge of each card. Laminate or use a card sleeve if you want it to last.

Ideas for class

  • Print a fresh set every August with the new school year on it.
  • Make one card for each parent who teaches, and one for each student, for museums, libraries and field trips.
  • Keep a copy of your notice of intent, or your state's letter, in the same folder, since some places ask for proof as well as a card.
  • Use the page of card backs on the other side of the fronts, or leave it off and write on the back by hand.

Questions

Will a homeschool ID get me a discount?

Some museums, stores and attractions offer educator or homeschool discounts, and what they accept is up to each one. Some ask for more than a card, such as a copy of your notice of intent or a letter. Ask before you go. The card is a private one and has no legal status.

Is it an official ID?

No. It is a card you make for your own school, and the back says so in plain words. It is not a government ID, and nothing on it is an official seal.

Where do the names and photos go?

Nowhere. Names are kept in this browser so they are here next time. A photo is shrunk on this computer and kept only while the page is open, so it is gone when you close it. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing goes into a link.

Does the photo keep its location data?

No. The page draws the photo again on a small canvas, which keeps only the picture, not the camera's tags or location.

What size is the card?

3.375 by 2.125 inches (85.6 by 54 mm), the size of a bank card, eight to a page on US Letter or A4. Choose the paper below the controls.
