Need the letter? Fill in the Ohio letter of intent and print it.
All year
Teach the subjects Ohio names: English language arts, mathematics, science, history, government, social studies.
Source: Ohio Revised Code 3321.042 (home education); Ohio Department of Education and Workforce: Home SchoolingThe home education section does not require you to keep records. The yearly notice to the superintendent is the paperwork it asks for. The department says to keep the superintendent's written acknowledgement of the notice for the final year of home education to go with a home education diploma for employment or college.

Good habits (not in the law)
-
Keep a copy of everything you send, and of any acknowledgement you get back, with the date.
-
Start simple records on day one: the days you teach, the books you read and a few samples of work in each subject. They help if you move, return to school or apply to college.
