Do I need a placement test to start a homeschool curriculum?

No law makes you take one. A placement test is a publisher's tool for choosing the right level of its own program; All About Learning Press, for example, offers free ones for its reading, spelling and math programs. Your state's testing rules are separate, and Peabody's state law pages say whether your state asks for a test or an evaluation.
