Things to do, with their deadlines
File an affidavit of intent with the county school superintendent. You do not file again unless homeschooling stops and starts again.

Need the letter? Fill in the Arizona letter of intent and print it.
All year
Teach the subjects Arizona names: reading, grammar, mathematics, social studies, science.

The paperwork the law names is the affidavit of intent. A homeschooled child who tries out for a public school's interscholastic activities needs written verification from the person teaching about passing grades and satisfactory progress.

If you stop homeschooling
Tell the county school superintendent that your child is no longer being instructed in a homeschool.

Good habits (not in the law)
-
Keep a copy of everything you send, and of any acknowledgement you get back, with the date.
-
Start simple records on day one: the days you teach, the books you read and a few samples of work in each subject. They help if you move, return to school or apply to college.
